The Beautiful Impatiens Acaulis

When rainy season hits dakshina kannada, as if from nowhere, thousands of plants varieties take birth or just rejuvenate themselves from a dormant state. One such is Impatiens acaulis. I don't know it's vernacular name (local name) or even if it exists. When we went to a near by Temple hill called Karinja, I found hundreds of these plants with only a single leaf, stuck onto hard laterite rocks with an internetwork of root system. They looked least interesting for Gardening since they appear too wild to be domesticated. However, I slowly plucked many leaves out and took them home.
I made a nice moss bed inside an emptied coconut cover and put them carefully in. They were too tender to be 'planted'. However, to my surprise, after a few days, they appeared to have survived and didn't lose out on the journey of life. My wife kept them out in rain and it continuously showered for weeks without proper break. My plant thrived like anything and started leaving out inflorescence.
Awesome the flowers were!, when they bloomed. I never expected such a wild plant to add so much value to our garden. The book 'Flora of Udupi' says this is a perennial plant (long lived), but not sure if it will survive as is or will enter a dormant state after rains. Will wait and watch.
Every plant has a story to narrate. Every plant is an important link in the chain of life. Not sure when we realize this and stop bulldozing the nature around us.
