For a long time I wanted to do this - converting an image into a drawing!. There are lots of ways to do this, but not many give control to us.
Inkscape can do this and the result is an SVG!! (Vector graphics rather than raster graphics).

Here is the drawing I created.

And here is the original image uisng which this was done.

The best thing is conversion to SVG format. Now the drawing created is scalable to any size, that means I can even print a hoarding poster of this drawing.
